NOTHING HAS OCCURRED WHICH WE HAVE NOT ALLOWED.  CEASE TO ALLOW. STAND UP. SPEAK UP, STARTING HERE. STARTING NOW. YES, YOU.

IRAQ: Insist we bring our most precious national resources - our courageous and idealistic youth - home from Iraq, where they can apply their patriotism and talents to their homeland.  Speak up for those redeployed over and over with no escape like Katrina victims trapped on a roof. Our youth must speak up on behalf of those who are trapped in this cycle.

IRAN: Our youth must recognize that if we go into Iran, we will need more soldiers.  Where will they come from?  Look to your right - look to your left - look in the mirror.  It's called the draft.  Google it.

Tomorrow is not yet written.  Don't let Bush write it for you.
Stand up. Speak up. Starting here. Starting now.  Yes, You.

Congress relinquished their power to declare war to the executive branch, namely George Bush. They abdicated their power and on that day should have abdicated their throne. It was not their personal power to abdicate, but rather the power of the American people.

It has brought such severe imbalance that no meaningful work can get done. It is like Congress is paddling with one oar, causing the boat to travel in a circle that is getting tighter and smaller and we are being flushed down the toilet. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, you can strengthen your own party by demanding that your Congressperson take that abdicated power back. It is not their decision. It is ours.

Lift a finger - write, e-mail, call your Congressperson and demand an end to this national disgrace.  Stand up. Speak up. Starting here. Starting now. Yes, You.

I cannot begin to comprehend why our government has weakened itself and it's citizens.  The presidential branch has not kept it's pledge to preserve and protect the United States Constitution.  The Congressional branch has not either. There is one president and one vice-president. There are currently 435 members of Congress. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates the United States population to be approximately 303,000,000.  WE can pledge to preserve and protect the United States Constitution.

IT IS CLEAR WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT.  INSIST OUR INDIVIDUAL CONGRESSPERSONS REFLECT THAT.  GEORGE BUSH DID NOT ELECT OUR CONGRESS - WE DID. WE MUST ENCOURAGE AND EMPOWER THEM TO STAND UP. SPEAK UP. STARTING HERE. STARTING NOW.

STAND UP. SPEAK UP. STARTING HERE. STARTING NOW.  YES, YOU.

My father was a prisoner of war as a Marine for 44 months in World War II in the Phiippines.  He was in the Bataan Death March.  Believe me, the trauma doesn't end for torture victims or their families when the wars are over.  It damages the victim often beyond repair.

Most secrets are old the second day.  Most soldiers don't really know much useful intelligence and intelligence is constantly changing.  Our tortured prisoners learn we are vindictive, cruel and relentless.  Just as they were trained to believe. Does that describe U.S.?  Does that represent U.S.?  What if we treated them with basic civility?  Wouldn't that be the true war on terror?

And don't our soldiers deserve more?  To be required to torture to any degree degrades and mars them as human beings.  It causes great anguish to them later.  It uses them up.  It is not what American soldiers should be trained to be.  Nobody wants to grow up to be a torturer. It does not prepare them for anything meaningful or profitable in life.  Later, the torturer will be very internally tortured.  Our soldiers deserve more.  They are to be trained to be useful, not used.

There comes a time when we must cease to be beggars in our own county.  When we cease to agonize and experience sorrow with our morning coffee as more and more foolish decisions are made without our desire, wisdom or consent. We are treated as children instead of citizens. Those who refuse to represent us, must be removed from office.  Out of 303,000,000 surely we can find some able and ready substitutes.

I was shocked when my country let suffering victims sit on a roof in Katrina and die - and we let them.  I am shocked when my country redeploys our battle weary soldiers to a civil war thousands of years in the making - and we let them.

If we could undo it - would we?  We can - will we? If we are truly the land of the free and the home of the brave, we will Stand up. Speak up. Starting here. Starting now.  Yes, You
